Abrasives For Shot Blasting
Quest is the exclusive representative of SIAMBRATOR, a leading manufacturer of steel shot and steel grit in various sizes and hardness levels, meeting SAE J 827 or custom requirements. The products are specifically designed for the Pipe Mill Industry in India.
The Steel Shot manufacturing process involves melting selected scrap in an electric induction furnace, followed by precise analysis of the molten metal’s chemical composition using a spectrometer to ensure adherence to SAE standards. The metal is then atomized and transformed into round particles, quenched and tempered in a heat-treating process for uniform hardness and microstructure. The resulting product is screened by size to meet the required SAE specification.
STEEL SHOT

Standard Hardness
The hardness of 90% of all shot particles shall be within the range of 40-50 HRC. (Rockwell Scale)
STEEL GRIT
Steel Grit is produced by crushing steel shot to form angular particles, which are then tempered to varying hardness levels for different uses. It meets SAE standard specifications for size and hardness, with options for three standard levels:
- GH = 63-65 HRC.
- GL = 56-60 HRC.
- GP = 40-50 HRC.
Customized hardness levels can also be provided for specific applications.
